I’ve always gravitated toward the process behind the outcome.
I built my career in communications, where the job was rarely just about the message. It meant making sense of complex information, navigating changing requirements, connecting the right pieces and finding clearer ways to move work from idea to execution.
Over time, I realized I was most energized by the problems underneath the deliverable: understanding how work gets done, spotting gaps and friction, bringing structure to messy processes and creating tools and systems that make the work easier to execute.
How I approach the work
Understand the problem. I ask questions, dig into the details and synthesize information until I understand what’s actually happening.
Create structure. I look for gaps, friction, unclear handoffs and opportunities to make work more organized, consistent and repeatable.
Make it useful. Whether it’s a communications deliverable, workflow or piece of documentation, I care about creating something people can understand, use and act on.
